Agent 37 is an early-stage company (Y Combinator, Fall 2026) running two products under one brand. Agent37 Cloud is a prepaid API for persistent sandboxes: a gVisor container by default, or a full VM as an option, whose whole disk survives between runs and which can sleep when idle.

Managed hosting is the consumer side: a flat monthly plan for a pre-installed OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or Grok agent, with a browser dashboard, task board and chat channels. It has no public API of its own.

The split matters for this site. A non-technical buyer usually wants the second product, while almost every feature described here belongs to the first.

At a glance

Who it is forDevelopers building one sandbox per end user, and non-technical buyers who want a personal agent without touching an API.
IsolationgVisor container by default: a user-space kernel, stronger than a plain container but weaker than a VM, and Docker does not work inside it. The vm type gives a full VM with its own kernel at 2.5× compute; performance gives dedicated cores at 4×.
SizesFour shapes, with 4 vCPU as the ceiling on the default type: 2/4, 4/8, 4/16 and 4/32 vCPU/GB. Disk is any whole number of GB inside each shape's range, defaulting to 4, 6, 12 or 24 GB.

How it bills

ModelPrepaid wallet, no subscription and no plan fee.
MeterPer minute, priced from the shape you reserved: $0.80 per vCPU-month, $0.70 per GB-month, $0.09 per GB-month of disk.
While stoppedDisk only. A sleep checkpoint keeps memory at no extra charge; a stopped instance loses memory and still pays for disk.
Plan feeNone on the Cloud API. The personal plans ($3.99 to $99.99 a month) are a separate product.
MinimumNo minimum charge, but creating an instance requires one day of its running cost in the wallet.

How Agent 37 lets you try before paying is on Trials and free tiers.

Where it stands out

  • The whole disk persists, not just a mounted folder.
  • Two pauses with different memory behaviour, both billed at disk only.
  • Free nightly backups of /home/node with seven restore points.
  • Managed hosting is the only genuinely one-click personal agent in this set.
  • Cheapest always-on 4 vCPU box of the seven at about $10.60 a month.

Using it without writing code

DashboardYes, two of them: agent37.com/dashboard/cloud for keys, billing, team and metrics, and a separate dashboard for the personal-agent product. The docs never describe creating a Cloud sandbox by clicking, so the documented path is an API call or the CLI.
Without codeOn managed hosting, yes, that is the whole product: one click, a task board, a web terminal, a file browser and a live desktop. On the Cloud API, no: every create path in the docs is POST /v1/instances, npx agent37, or a code snippet.
SignupCloud needs a card to unlock the $5 starter credit, or you can sign up through the API with no credit and fund it first. The personal free plan needs no card.
Docs and supportMintlify docs, over 60 pages, runnable examples for every endpoint, and llms.txt bundles so an agent can read the whole manual. Support is a founder's email, a dashboard chat bubble and a booking link. There is a public status page.

Caveats and contradictions

Shown as the research found them. A contradiction means the provider's own pages disagree; an open question means the answer is not published.

  1. 01

The vCPU ceiling contradicts itself Contradiction

The sizing page says 4 vCPU is the ceiling on every instance type and that a request for 16 vCPU comes back as 4. The VM page prices 8 vCPU / 16 GB and 16 vCPU / 32 GB. Both pages are current.

  2. 02

battleships.dev models Agent 37 as having memory snapshots Contradiction

Its snapshot: mem and $0.03 figure describe the sleep checkpoint and cold storage, not a snapshot product you can name, list or clone. There is no snapshot product.

  3. 03

Egress has no published price Open question

No per-GB rate, free allowance or overage policy appears on the pricing page or in the billing docs.

  4. 04

Whether the Cloud dashboard can create a sandbox by clicking Open question

Every documented create path is an API call or CLI command. The absence may be a documentation gap rather than a product gap.

  5. 05

Regions outside the US require the 2.5× VM type, and backups are stored in the US Open question

EU and India regions keep the instance and its disk local, but backups and the control-plane record are stored in the US.

  6. 06

The $5 starter credit has moved before Needs re-checking

battleships.dev recorded a conflict between a $5 website claim and $1 in the billing docs. The billing docs said $5 on 2026-10-28, so it appears resolved, but the number has changed at least once.

The three shared workloads

List-price illustrations, not quotes

A · 1,000 short tasks

≈ $1.09 a month

2 vCPU / 4 GiB, 4 GB disk (the entry shape), deleted after each task

  • Compute1,000 × 10 min × (2 × $0.00001826 + 4 × $0.00001598)$1.00
  • Disk1,000 × 10 min × 4 GB × $0.00000205$0.08
  • The requested shape exists exactly, so no substitution is needed.
  • Boot and provisioning time is not billed; transitional states such as starting and stopping are billed at the full rate.
  • Excludes model tokens, which usually dominate the cost of a ten-minute agent task.

B · One always-on box

≈ $10.60 or $30.10 a month

The requested 4 vCPU / 8 GiB / 50 GB box does not exist as a single shape.

  • 4 vCPU / 8 GB, 20 GB disk (the disk cap on this shape)730 h × (4 × $0.0011 + 8 × $0.00096) + 20 × $0.09$10.60
  • 4 vCPU / 32 GB, 50 GB disk (the nearest shape that allows 50 GB)730 h × (4 × $0.0011 + 32 × $0.00096) + 50 × $0.09$30.10
  • A VM, needed for Docker or /dev/kvm, multiplies compute by 2.5: about $23.85 or $68.59.
  • Both figures match the vendor's own shape table plus disk at $0.09/GB-month.

50 GB of disk forces the 4 vCPU / 32 GB shape. If 20 GB is enough, the same CPU and RAM cost a third as much.

C · Three hours a day

≈ $1.61 or $2.86 a month

The requested 2 vCPU / 4 GiB / 20 GB box does not exist: that shape caps disk at 12 GB.

  • 2 vCPU / 4 GB, 12 GB disk90 h × $0.00604 + 12 × $0.09 × (720/730)$1.61
  • 4 vCPU / 8 GB, 20 GB disk90 h × $0.01208 + 20 × $0.09 × (720/730)$2.86
  • A 30-day month is 720 hours, so disk is prorated over 720/730 of a month.
  • At 90 awake hours, disk is two-thirds of the bill in the first option.
  • Leaving the same box running all month instead would cost about $5.40.

20 GB is not orderable with 2 vCPU. The second line buys more CPU and RAM than asked to get the disk.
